About Dr. Gareth Bury
A passion for precision, a commitment to measurable results, and a dedication to structural correction.
Greensburg isn't just where Dr. Gareth Bury practices. It's home.
Dr. Bury grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, attended Greensburg Central Catholic High School, and later graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Today, he has the privilege of caring for patients in the same community that helped shape him.
His path into chiropractic began through personal experience. After a serious ATV accident left him with multiple spinal fractures and a significant shoulder injury, chiropractic care became an important part of his recovery and return to an active life. That experience ultimately helped shape his decision to pursue chiropractic as a profession.
While attending Palmer, Dr. Bury developed a particular interest in a more structural, measurement-based approach to chiropractic care. Rather than treating every patient or every spine the same way, his approach focuses on understanding the individual’s spinal structure, posture, movement, neurological and clinical findings, and personal goals.
That philosophy became the foundation of Optimus Spine & Posture.
Today, Dr. Bury’s approach begins with listening. He wants to understand what brought a patient into the office, how the problem is affecting their life, and what they hope to accomplish. From there, he uses a comprehensive examination, objective posture analysis, and imaging when clinically indicated to develop a clearer picture of what may be contributing to the problem.
When appropriate, those findings are used to develop an individualized plan of care. Just as importantly, progress is reassessed rather than assumed.
“I want my patients to understand what we’re finding, why it matters, why I’m recommending something, and how we’re going to measure whether we’re making progress.”
For Dr. Bury, patient education is an essential part of care. His goal is not simply to tell patients what to do, but to help them better understand their spine, their options, and the reasoning behind their recommendations.
Outside the office, Dr. Bury remains rooted in the Greensburg area and enjoys spending time with his family, biking, skiing, sports, and staying active.
Being able to build Optimus Spine & Posture in his hometown is something he takes seriously. The goal is simple: provide his community with thoughtful, individualized chiropractic care built around measurement, education, and accountability.
We Measure. We Correct. We Prove It.
Common Myths (Narrative Certainty)
Many patients come to us believing their pain is due to "sleeping wrong" or "getting old." This is what we call a Narrative Fallacy. The truth is, these are often just the final straw that broke the camel's back. The real cause is often a Structural Shift that has been developing for years. We rely on objective indicators, not stories, to determine the true cause of your condition.
Addressing Your Skepticism
We know you might be skeptical. Maybe you've tried chiropractic before and it didn't work. Or maybe you've heard stories. We understand. That's why our practice is built on Objective Indicators. We don't guess; we measure. If we can't help you, we will tell you. If we can, we will show you exactly how, with a plan based on physics, not faith.
What We Are Not
To be clear, our office is not the right fit for everyone, and that is intentional. We are a structural correction practice, not a massage clinic, and our care suits patients who want to understand the structural findings contributing to their concerns and to participate in addressing them over time. If what you need right now is short-term symptom relief, that is a completely reasonable goal — it simply may be better served elsewhere, and we will say so honestly.
