Primary vs. Secondary Conditions
Why symptom relief alone so often doesn't hold.
The Primary Condition
A Primary Condition is the underlying structural abnormality that causes your body to malfunction. In our office, this is typically a Structural Shift of the spine.
Think of it like the foundation of a house. If the foundation cracks or sinks (Primary Condition), it causes stress throughout the entire building.
Examples of Primary Conditions:
- Anterior Head Syndrome
- Loss of Cervical Curve
- Pelvic Tilt / Unleveling
- Spondylolisthesis (Vertebral Slippage)
The Warning Signs
Pain is not the problem.
Pain is the alarm system telling you
there is a problem.
The Secondary Conditions
Secondary Conditions are what most people call "symptoms." Where a Primary Condition is present, they are often downstream of it. Treating the Secondary Condition alone can bring real relief — but when the underlying structure is unchanged, the problem commonly returns.
