Corrective Exercises
Exercises alone cannot correct structure. But the right exercises, combined with structural correction, accelerate and maintain your results.
Not Just Any Exercise
At Optimus Spine & Posture, we don't hand you a generic sheet of stretches. Your corrective exercises are prescribed based on your specific structural analysis—your X-rays, your posture measurements, and your functional assessments.
Every exercise is designed to support the corrections being made to your spine. They work in conjunction with your adjustments and traction to retrain your muscles, ligaments, and nervous system to hold the new structural position.
Types of Corrective Exercises We Prescribe
Mirror Image Exercises
These exercises are designed to move your body in the opposite direction of your structural shift. If your head is forward, we prescribe exercises that retract it. If your spine curves left, we prescribe exercises that move it right.
Spinal Traction
Specific traction protocols designed to restore your spinal curves. Cervical traction restores the neck curve. Lumbar traction restores the lower back curve. Each is calibrated to your measurements.
Stabilization Exercises
Once your structure improves, stabilization exercises strengthen the muscles around your spine to hold the new position. This is critical for long-term correction.
Neuromuscular Re-education
Your nervous system has adapted to your old posture. These exercises retrain your brain and muscles to recognize and maintain proper alignment as the new "normal."
Why Generic Exercises Don't Work
If you search "posture exercises" online, you'll find hundreds of generic routines. The problem? They don't account for your specific structural shifts.
Doing the wrong exercise for your spine can actually make things worse. For example, if your neck has lost its curve and you do exercises that flex it forward, you're reinforcing the problem. That's why every exercise we prescribe is based on your X-ray findings.
