For patients from Ligonier, PA

Structural Correction Chiropractor in Ligonier

There is no Ligonier office. Patients from Ligonier are seen at our office in Greensburg, by appointment. This page is about logistics: arranging one trip from the Ligonier Valley, what can be settled before you leave, and what cannot be done in one visit.

One Office, Planned in Advance

Every visit to Optimus Spine & Posture is scheduled; there are no walk-in hours, so a trip from the Ligonier Valley can be planned around a confirmed time. The practical questions are what to settle by phone, what happens on the day, and what has to wait for a second visit.

Making One Trip Count

  1. Ask your general questions by phone first

A brief complimentary phone conversation may be available for patients who want to discuss whether traveling for an in-person examination is appropriate. It does not replace a physical examination, establish a diagnosis, or include structural measurements.

  2. Book the complimentary structural consultation

Online or by phone. It is a private, 15-minute conversation with Dr. Bury about your concerns, your goals and previous care. It is not an examination, and nothing beyond it is booked unless you decide.

  3. Say when you book that you are traveling

If you would like the option of an examination on the same day, say so when you book. It commits you to nothing and promises nothing; whether it can happen is decided at the consultation.

  4. Bring what you have

Prior X-ray or MRI reports and images, a note of what you have tried, and your questions. None of it is required.

Can the Examination Follow the Same Day?

Sometimes. The New Patient Structural Examination (the comprehensive examination) is a separate paid service; whether it can follow on the same day depends on whether the consultation finds an examination appropriate and whether the schedule allows it. When both line up it can happen; otherwise it is booked as its own visit. The fee is explained before it is scheduled, and if you want to know it before you travel, call and ask.

The examination is orthopedic, neurological and functional testing, posture measured against reference values, and X-rays only when clinically indicated; the reason is explained before any film is taken.

What Cannot Be Arranged in One Visit

The Patient Recommendation Conference

Your findings have to be measured and prepared before they are explained. The Patient Recommendation Conference, the separate visit where findings, our recommendations, the proposed plan and the fees are reviewed with you, means a return trip.

A decision about care

You are not asked to agree to a plan at the consultation or the examination. The decision follows the Patient Recommendation Conference, with fees and alternatives in front of you.

Structural correction itself

An adjustment may be performed at the examination when it is clinically appropriate, but it is not part of the examination fee and is never assumed. A correction plan, if one is recommended, runs over a series of visits with progress examinations at set points.

A diagnosis by phone or message

General questions are welcome by phone; an examination, a diagnosis or a plan is not given without seeing you.

If You Are Still Weighing the Trip

The Latrobe page is written for the eastern side of the county, including the Ligonier Valley, and covers why people travel for a structural evaluation. If you would be better served closer to home, we say so.

Condition Pages Worth Reading Before You Visit

Reading the relevant page before you travel means the consultation can start from your questions.

  • Low back pain

what a structural evaluation adds to care you may already be receiving

  • Neck pain

why the neck curve is measured and what the number does and does not mean

  • Tension headaches

how head and neck position are assessed when headaches are the main complaint

  • Anterior Head Syndrome

a measurable forward shift of the head; common, and not always a problem

  • Short leg syndrome

a measured leg-length difference and what it can mean for the pelvis and spine

Questions From Ligonier Patients

Is there an Optimus office in Ligonier?

No. The only office is at 593 Rugh Street in Greensburg, by appointment, with free on-site parking and a step-free entrance. We do not publish drive times.

Can everything be done in one trip?

Not everything. The examination can sometimes follow the consultation the same day, as explained above. The Patient Recommendation Conference is a separate visit, and any care that follows involves further visits.

What each visit involves

Can I find out the examination fee before I travel?

Yes. Fees are explained at the consultation before anything is scheduled, and if you would like them in advance, call 724-672-3794 and ask.

Is a phone consultation available first?

Yes. A brief complimentary phone conversation may be available for patients who want to discuss whether traveling for an in-person examination is appropriate. It does not replace a physical examination, establish a diagnosis, or include structural measurements.

Should I read the Latrobe page instead?

The office and the process are the same.

Start With a Conversation

Book the consultation, mention that you are traveling, and bring what you have. If we are not the right fit, we will say so before you make a second trip.

The initial structural consultation is complimentary and carries no obligation. It does not include the comprehensive examination, diagnostic imaging or treatment, which are paid services, and imaging is performed only when it is clinically warranted. We are primarily a direct-pay practice and accept HSA and FSA payments. Fees and the care we recommend are explained before you agree to anything. See what to expect on your first visit.
